It measured three feet eight inches in length and seventy centimeters in diameter. The skin of the jackfruit is of a rough appearance with blunt prickle like points looking like the inside of the pyloric or stomach.

The seed of the jackfruit also makes a delicious dish The seed is cooked in more than way. It has a thin but strong plastic-like covering when removed, the seeds are cooked in Soup or by itself is also cooked as

nice because of its sweetness, however, if you are a sugar lover you might not mind the sweetness.

The interior of the jackfruit when ripe and split open you can see the heart covered with white thick stain, should it catch your hands A pumpkin leaf removes the stain better than soap and water.

To access the pegs or pulps you will need to remove the heart as the pegs are attached to the heart, you will need to cut away the heart then you can use your fingers, a spoon, or a fork to remove the pegs which are embedded between some bands of fibres.

Although the pegs of the jackfruit are very sweet some folks enjoyed it better by dipping the pegs into salted water. They said the salt cuts the effect of the sugar. Inside of the peg there lies the seed.

  8. This Jackfruit is a new fruit variety for me, but in reading through the details of your post, I must say that I am ready to give it a go. There are many new types of fruit that I have been lucky enough to try since leaving the Mid-West in the USA so many years ago for Europe and Asia.

The nutritional value of the Jackfruit is high compared to many fruits I have seen data on, so I am sure that it will become a part of my diet going forward. I like getting the most bang for my buck, and the price is not bad while getting all this nutrition.

I am not sure which of the products to try first, they all look good. Likely I will select two, then give the third a whirl with my next order. The prices are good, I have paid more for other exotic fruits in the past. Does this price include shipping or is that extra?

Thanks for getting me up to speed with the Jackfruit and the great nutritional value it offers. I learned something new and useful today!

    • Hello, Dave thanks for your comment. Jackfruit is a popular fruit one that is beloved by many people. However, there are still a vast amount of people who do not know the fruit. That is one reason for me to add so many different images of the fruit on my post.

Depending on which distributor you buy from Some product price include shipping some does not. You are welcome, thank you too

I never like to smell the fruit after I ate it. Now I am in the City where I have to buy the fruit I questioned the high price and that was when the nutritional truth revealed I have prepared the seed in many different ways all of which proved delicious and nutritious

  10. You mention that the Jackfruit is a natural laxative and can help with digestion and preventing constipation from happening. I am curious to know if it helps people clear up constipation if they already have it? Or would they need to see a doctor if it reaches that point?

    Thanks for answering my questions.

    • Hi Jessie; my answer to your question, as a natural laxative it will keep your bowels free it will not cause you to have a runny stool, maybe it will clear constipation due to its high fibre content.

You would need to add the Jackfruit to your diet.

  11. Thank you for your post. Jackfruit is new to me and now I am intrigued! What is the consistency like? Is it something you could put into a smoothie (like blended up with milk and ice?) It sounds like a very versatile fruit packed full of nutrition. I am also wondering about fructose? My son can’t process fructose very well so there are a few fruits that we have eliminated from his diet. These include watermelon, apples and pears mostly. Because jackfruit is new to me I’m just not sure how that might go? He can still have bananas and berries. Thanks so much!

    • Hi Melissa; thanks for your comment. I have not found Fructose in In any clinical note on Jackfruit, neither on the Nutrition facts. I would consider it to be safe for your child Yes, Jackfruit makes a great smoothie.

It is one of the superfoods. One fantastic thing about Jackfruit is that all parts of it can be added to your diet and prove beneficial from the root to the fruit.
